From the author:
The creation of this timeless fairy tale was filled with small “miracles.”
First, the text came to life. I remember writing it through the feelings that appeared naturally within me. Only later, while working on the illustrations, did I understand where the story came from, why it was written, and which moments of my life it was connected to. It was a very special experience — completely different from writing poetry, where a real situation usually comes first and emotions follow.
Every illustration, starting with the cover, is important to me. I feel close to them through their colors, shapes, people, gestures, looks, as well as the animals and plants that bring the story to life.
I would like to warmly thank Ewelina Oleksiak, a truly talented and sensitive artist, who has the rare ability to deeply feel another person and to bring out an even deeper meaning from the text.
Creating In the Universe’s Treasure House was a very personal journey for me. It is my first independent book, which I decided to share with the world with courage — and a little fear — in my heart. I followed my own rhythm and stayed true to myself.
I believe this story is timeless because every day we make choices. Every day we decide whether we hold on to our inner direction or let it go. We can choose to focus on colors or on their absence, and decide what we want to invite into our lives. Gratitude and faith are gifts we can all carry in our hearts, if we choose to.
I believe you will find in this book exactly what you need at this moment. I wish you a beautiful journey to the Universe’s Treasure House.
Remember — the Universe is always on your side.
With gratitude,
Barbara Treter
